Not suitable for the purposeI bought this with great hope only to get disappointed. This mat absolutely lacks cushion and hence quite hard on your knees. So, any yoga asanas involving knee touching on floor will be uncomfortable to even painful. Regarding mat grip, it has rubberized under layer, hence the mat won’t move when you do asanas but the problem is, the surface of the mat is little bit slippery and it almost feels like it’s made of wool or something instead of cotton. The grip issue is especially noticeable while doing Surya Namaskar sort of asanas were you don't feel the confidence at all and you will always concern about the weaker grip on the mat surface while doing the asana.
